Disco comes in various forms. All genres of music in some form or fashion qualifies and can be described as Disco. As you will hear on this mix Lono Brazil demonstrates vicariously Downtempo Disco. Designed for listening, lounging and dancing. After an all nighter at a loft party this would serve as the come down, chillout and coming back to your senses. One or more of these songs were played at one time or another by the likes of David & Nicky & Larry & Frankie although this mix does not in anyway represent what any of them did in there respected venues clubs & Disco's. Nothing compares to what each was able to create in regards to mood, vibe and energy. Nothing comes close. IT WAS AND ALWAYS WILL BE SPECIAL AND UNLIKE ANYTHING BEFORE OR AFTER. This mix represents a 2010 Post-Modern Disco aesthetic or ideology. The intent is to expose unusual dance music and present it in a Disco content. Weather or not this is accomplished here or with any of the mixes heard here on the site is open for debate. But one thing is sure and two things are certain. Lono Brazil is doing his thing & you can make of it what you will..... "KEEP ON DANCIN"

Podcast Summary

Disco Unusual Social Club is a moving Dirty Disco Party that takes house and disco heads, on a musical adventure that's full of Studio 54 glam and old-school Chicago House Music energy. Everything from boogie to late krautrock has become fair game in these the hippest DJ sets in America, and forgotten disco detritus such as "Lovetown" are staples for DUSC & Dimitri from Paris. The most reliably tasteful dance party in the city, Disco Unusual Social Club, has been running for just over a year now. Indie kids pack the compact Danny’s Tavern in Bucktown floor to the distinctive bass lines of disco edits while DJ Lono Brazil blows whistles and passes around the tambourine. Things get a little nuts.
Designed to conjure the era of the Loft and DJs like Nicky Siano and Larry Levan. Lono Brazil keeps the dance floor packed with dirty-disco programming, mutant dance oddities and original edits and exclusives. Chic! Il est très chic.

LONO BRAZIL(DUSC EDITS, COTTAGE GROOVE RECORDINGS) A Chicago native and New York resident, Lono Brazil has been living in Los Angeles for the last 10 years and working as a Radio Show Host(KPFK 90.7 FM), DJ/Producer/Remixer. Also a former Executive at Capitol/EMI Records. He is well known in the music industry in Hip-Hop circles as an Executive Producer/Artist Manager launching the careers or working with artist such as The Beastie Boys, The Pharcyde, Foxy Brown, Channel Live, Spragga Benz, Ras Kass to name a few. Brazil, who owns the Cottage Grove label, has introduced some of music’s most influential artists to the public through his work with EMI and his monthly events at Sonotheque in Chicago and APT in New York City. Originally from the first wave of House Music Producers, DJ/Promoters from Chicago, Lono was instrumental in bringing Disco, House, African, Latin and Electronic to the forefront of the music scene and is still to this day regarded as an true ambasador of Quality Music.
